My Achilles Heal
Well, I guess my "Achilles Heal" (my weakness) today is actually my Achilles heal...I have tendonitis in my achilles tendon in my left ankle. It started from all the walking in Paris and was quite painful by the end of the week. I guess I should've done some yoga each morning before our treks out. Anyway, I gave it a rest for a week when I got home because I was sick and not exercising (sinus stuff). Yesterday I was finally feeling good so I hit the gym again and did a slow 4 mile jog on the treadmill. Today it's back...the painful tendon. Not fun. The only thing to do for it is rest. So I'm going to get my butt kicked in the new Nike challenge my hubby just instigated with his siblings and I. No running for me for a while. I just wish my gym had a pool...I guess I'll have to drive a little farther.

You can just keep the old challenge widget on your page and you'll look like the winner. :)
Great idea. I'll post the new one if I ever catch up.
if you do some stretching while you are resting, you should get better faster. (look for 2 different calf stretches one for gastroc and one for soleus)sorry the physical therapist in me couldn't sit back and say nothing.
I'm sorry to hear about your ankle. I get scared that something like that is going to happen to me. I just make sure to stretch really good before and after my workout. I'm freaky strict with myself about that. However, this may mean that I can possibly win the challenge. Probably not, but it's worth a try. I'm just keeping up with my triathlon schedule. I just up the mileage a little to fit my current fitness level.
Hang in there. I'm sure you'll be back at it soon!
Thank you, thank you, Julie for the PT advice. I'm glad you spoke up.
