Our oldest child turned 11 years old on August 4, 2009. I can't believe we have an 11 year old. We had a small dinner with the grandparents where we gave him his birthday present...a mountain bike (which he loves). Then on his actual birthday, I threw him a Mega Size Video Game Party. He invited some friends, they played video games projected onto an entire wall of our living room, ate pizza, snacks, soda and finished off with cake and ice cream. They all had a fun time and all it required from me was a little set up...my kind of party. I tried to stay out of the way so they could be as boyish and goofy as they wanted (I'm not a fan of the group boy antics at that age). I took our daughter downstairs and just left the door open to monitor from afar.
Thats funny...we did the exact same thing for PJ's 12th birthday party (except it was just Wii games on a regular T.V.--not the big screen). It was great. Very easy for us, and the boys all had a blast!
