My last TRI of the year

My hubby and I did a little triathlon (sprint distance) today at the Alta Rec Center. It was only a 400 meter swim, a 9 mile bike, and a 5k. This was the same triathlon I did last year in my first triathlon effort. I did do better this year than last but didn't quite hit my goal. I would've liked to have finished 2-3 minutes faster than I did, but at least it was 3 1/2 minutes faster than last year. Here are my stats...

Total Time: 1 hr 14 min 13 sec
I placed 4th out of 29 females 30-34 (my age group)
I placed 20th out of all 135 females participating
And I placed 63rd out of a total of 238 participants on race day

This was my fourth triathlon ever. It's been a fun road. Maybe I'll see some of you on it...because as tough as it is, I still have a long way to go before I've hit my limit.

Here we are...tough guys...showing our numbers (145 & 146)

Julie - Congrats on the triathlon. Tracy told me your blog was on hers so I thought I would drop you a line. Your kids are so cute and grown up. You've come a long way since Liberty Square. Glad to see you are using your talents.

Wish I could have been there with you. Good job! I think that I'm going to start training for an olympic distance triathlon. There are a few people here that are thinking about participating in their first olympic distance tri next summer. I'm considering it. I've got to do something. I've had a pretty lazy summer and my stomach is proof! :)

Cute new blog look!

I'm going to try a sprint distance in open water before I do olympic distance. The sprint distance in open water is 1/2 mile and in olympic, it's a mile. Open water is harder to swim in so I've gotta see how I handle that first. But it'd be great to have someone to train with, like you will. GO FOR IT, Jenni!

Good for you! That's awesome and I admire your dedication!

If only I had the desire to run...hmmm...nope, not doing it. ;)
